AN ONLINE education specialist’s move into a new headquarters could create up to 100 new jobs.

Tute, which provides e-learning through live online lessons to schools and in the home, was founded in 2011 and since then has been based on Wrexham Industrial Estate.

But at the end of the month, the company will move into new headquarters in Wrexham Technology Park, where a planned “phased growth” will see the company increase its number of employees from the current figure of 45 to about 70 by September.

And a second phase early next year will bring the total number of people employed by the company up to about 100 people.

The move will provide space for up to 100 new employees to eventually be within the company’s teaching, telesales and admin departments.

Sean Gardner, founder of Tute, said: “We’re thrilled to be moving into our new offices, the extra space will allow us to continue to grow and develop as a company.

“Since launching in December, 2011 we have seen a huge demand for our online lessons and we are now expanding our team to cater for this growing demand from schools and individuals alike.”

The company chose Wrexham as its base because it provides its service in English and Welsh.

The new 5,500 sq ft office is due to be opened at the end of the month and has the space to enable the company to teach more than 150,000 lessons per year, as well as providing training for staff.

The company has delivered lessons to more than 70,000 pupils across 200 primary and secondary schools throughout the UK, covering 29 subjects including GCSE and A-level courses..

The 45-minute lessons are broadcast live over the internet, with pupils needing a PC connected to the internet and a headset with microphone to take part.

The education curriculum is covered from key stage two, for pupils aged between seven and 11, up to key stage five, for students aged between 16 and 18.
