POLICE have arrested a man in relation to an alleged firearms incident.

Initial information suggested the man may have headed towards the area of Chester city centre following the incident in Higher Kinnerton near Hope.

But North Wales Police confirmed they have arrested a 63-year-old man in Kinnerton this afternoon.

North Wales Police spokesman Michael McGivern said: "A 63-year-old man, local to the Kinnerton area, has today been arrested in relation to the incident in Kinnerton.

"Police can confirm that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident."

Cheshire Police earlier confirmed they had been conducting inquiries in Chester city centre following reports the man may have travelled to the area.
