Man dies following Pontblyddyn car crash

A MAN has died following a two-vehicle crash near Mold.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision - which happened on the A541 in Pontblyddyn at about 10.20pm last night.

The emergency services attended the scene and firefighters used cutting equipment to free one casualty from a vehicle.

A second casualty was treated at the scene.

Inspector Steve Roberts said: “Shortly after 10.20pm police officers, the fire service, and the ambulance crews attended to a report of a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A541 between Pontblyddyn and Caergwrle.

“On their attendance the male driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“If anyone witnessed the incident or the events leading up to it can they contact the Deeside Roads Policing unit on 101 quoting the reference number R063918.
