MEMBERS at the MS Support Centre in Saltney celebrated Easter in style this year with a special Easter Bonnet competition.
Members were invited to design an Easter-themed hat either at the centre or at home and bring it in ready to be judged.
“We had such an array of entries and it was fantastic to see how much effort had gone into each hat design,” said Claire Huxley, communications officer for the MS Support Centre. “The level of imagination used for each one made choosing the winners a very difficult task. This was the first year that we had run a competition like this but I’m sure it will become an annual event now.”
The winners won Easter chocolates and were chosen by Paul Etherington, operations manager at the centre.
Janet Lloyd from Ewloe Green, Deeside, won first prize with her hat that featured a giant pink rabbit, Mandy Bradshaw from Flint gained second prize for her daffodil themed hat and Sian Evans from Llanamon Yn Lal, Mold, secured third prize with her rustic-themed hat which featured a nest of chickens.
The MS Support Centre provides practical support and therapies to manage the symptoms of a wide range of neurological conditions including MS, Parkinsons and ME and supports more than 350 people across North Wales, Cheshire, Wirral and Shropshire.
The centre organises social events, including competitions and quizzes for its members who can often feel isolated due to their conditions.
