THE company at the centre of a chemical incident last week says all staff affected have now returned to work.
Eleven employees attended hospital after being exposed to noxious gases after cleaning chemicals mixed at the English Provender Company site in Saltney last Wednesday.
Affected workers were “decontaminated” before being taken to hospital in Chester, with one employee staying in overnight before being discharged the following day.
An internal investigation into the incident is currently taking place.
Clive Whittaker, the company’s marketing manager, said yesterday: “EPC contacted the Health and Safety Executive on April 11 regarding the incident that occurred at the EPC site in River Lane, Saltney.
“The investigation is ongoing and findings will be shared with the HSE.
“All staff involved have now returned to work.”
EPC produces dressings, condiments and marinades for many of the UK’s leading food maunfacturers.
The Saltney factory employs 135 people.
