A MAN has been charged with causing the death of a motorcyclist by careless driving.

The case against Gareth Ifan Ritchie, 23, was yesterday sent to the crown court.

Ritchie, of Cae Delyn, Caerwys, denied the charge when he appeared at Flintshire Magistrates Court at Mold.

The prosecution say that on August 8 last year on the A5026 at Holway Road, Carmel, Ritchie caused the death of motorcyclist Christopher Davies by careless or inconsiderate driving.

It is alleged Ritchie lost control on a bend and slid sideways into the path of the motorcyclist.

Robert Blakemore, prosecuting, said that the case should be dealt with at the crown court.

Magistrates agreed and Ritchie was bailed to attend Mold Crown Court in a week’s time.
