A YOUNG man took his mother’s car without consent and reversed it from his home.
But he reversed it through a hedge and the Ford Fiesta ended up in next door’s garden.
Daniel Jake Croft, 20, of Heol y Goron, Leeswood, near Mold, abandoned the car and left it with its door open on the night of March 3.
He then got into a friend’s car so that he could sleep.
Croft admitted a charge of aggravated vehicle taking when he appeared at Flintshire Magistrates Court in Mold.
The court heard he was originally arrested on suspicion of drink driving, but by the time he got to the police station he was below the legal limit.
Gary Harvey, defending, said his client’s recollection of the incident was vague.
He had been drinking earlier, but not very much.
Mr Harvey suggested his client should put the incident down to experience – that it was part of a learning curve.
“Things are a little bit frosty at home as you might expect,” he said.
He only drove a short distance but reversed through a hedge.
Sentencing was adjourned.
