A BESPOKE bike which took a man six months to build for his wife has been stolen.
John and Sandra Jones, of Cefndre, Caia Park, are devastated after the customised three-wheeler was taken by thieves.
Mrs Jones, 50, said the bike was kept at a storage unit in Rhosnesni when the raiders struck.
Her husband made the specialised machine so she would be able to get out and about as she does not drive.
He had also built a special trailer which could be linked up to the bike so Mrs Jones – who has four Jack Russells – could take up to three dogs with her while out on rides.
Talking about the theft Mrs Jones said: “I think this is terrible, I’m absolutely gutted.
The bike has so much sentimental value for us.
“John worked very hard to build it over a period of about six months, now someone has just come along and taken it for themselves.
“John is very good at ‘do it yourself’ jobs and put a lot of effort into that bike.
“I want it back, it is unique and was my only form transport. It helped to give me independence.”
Mrs Jones said as a child she had a crash while cycling which knocked her confidence riding a standard bike.
Mrs Jones said her three-wheeler had been in storage since November as she has undergone physiotherapy treatment for her knees.
But she looked forward to getting back in the saddle.
The trailer was kept at home and is safe.
A spokesman for North Wales Police said it was believed the bike was stolen overnight on March 6 to 7.
If anyone had information on the crime they should call 101.
