POLICE searching for a missing pensioner have found a body.

The discovery was made yesterday morning by officers searching for Robert David Dykins, 75, who went missing from his home in Shotton Lane, Shotton, on Monday.

The body was found in woodland near Shotton Train Station.

A North Wales Police spokesman said: “A formal identification will take place in due course.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and family members have been informed.

“The North East Wales coroner will also be notified.

“Mr Dykins family would like to thank the public for their help in trying to trace him.”

Concerns were raised about Mr Dykins, who was last seen at 7am on Monday, and an appeal for information and a description of him was made public yesterday morning.
