A TEENAGER received hospital treatment after being shot with a pellet gun while walking her dog.
The 16-year-old was hit by a pellet from the gun fired by one of a group of men who were ahead of her on a path leading towards Ewloe Castle in Wepre Park, Connah’s Quay.
She is recovering in hospital after the incident which happened between 2pm and 2.30pm on Saturday.
North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses.
The teenager was walking towards the castle when she saw the group in front of her.
She bent down to pick up her pet chihuahua and as she started to stand, one of the men pointed the gun towards her and fired.
The men ran off and the teenager made her way home before later attending hospital for treatment, where she remained overnight.
Det insp Tim Green, of North Wales Police, said: “We’d like to reassure members of the local community that incidents of this nature are rare and would like to encourage anyone who has information to come forward."
