PUPILS taking part in a school project built lifesize robots from shoeboxes, egg cartons and plastic tubing.
Reception pupils from Ewloe Green Primary School produced robots twice their size using recycled household items.
The children collected items from home before creating the huge structures – with the two reception classes competing over who could make the tallest robot.
Darren Williams, reception teacher at the school, said: “The project lasted for a couple of weeks.
“We asked parents to bring in recycled items.
“The children were very involved in trying to make the robots and one of the teachers spray-painted them when they were built.”
Mr Williams said the children took part in the challenge as part of two projects – one on toys and one on height.
The robots are now on display in the school’s atrium.
