A SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD has been arrested in connection with a series of graffiti attacks.

The tag ‘MD7’ has been daubed on walls, fences and sign posts in Shotton and Queensferry, as well as on cars.

Community leaders have slammed the actions of the person responsible after suggesting the graffiti has made Shotton’s appearance akin to a ghetto.

But North Wales Police yesterday confirmed the youth is helping them with their inquiries and has been bailed until early next month.

Sgt Sue Richards said: “A local male has been arrested and is assisting us with our inquiries.

“He is currently on police bail until early March pending further inquiries.”

Shotton councillor Mike Evans previously denounced the acts carried out by the self-styled artist as “a childish prank” that was giving “the wrong message about a nice place”.
