A YOUNGSTER with a right royal obsession has had her dream come true after she got a card from Wills and Kate.
Eight-year-old Mia Legname, of Borras Park, adores the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and has been one of their biggest fans since they were married in 2011.
While most children her age are collecting toys, the Borras Park Juniors School pupil has built up a huge collection of royal memorabilia.
She collects newspaper and magazine cuttings of the couple and records as many of their TV appearances as she can.
Her collection includes souvenir mugs, plates, paperweights and a even a replica of Kate Middleton’s wedding ring.
Now her collection has its most prized possession – a letter from Buckingham Palace.
Mia was on holiday with her family in Bulgaria the week Prince George was born and asked her newsagent to keep all the coverage of the event kept to one side for when she got back.
And on her return, mum Christine, 43, helped Mia put together a special Christmas card for the couple and the baby prince.
Christine said: “Mia created her own Christmas card with a picture of her with William and Kate’s waxworks at Madame Tussauds.
“We sent it to Buckingham Palace with the hope they would receive it.”
And royal-mad Mia jumped for joy after a reply came through the letterbox of her home on Cardigan Road.
Christine said: “It came when Mia was at school and I was so excited when I saw it I wanted to open it myself.
“She was ecstatic when she got home and saw the envelope and couldn’t wait to open it and read what it said.”
The letter thanked Mia for her card and the note from the palace now sits top of the pile among her collection of memorabilia.
Christine said: “Her love of Wills and Kate all started at the royal wedding in 2011, when we had a party.
“I wanted to get my children as excited for the wedding as I was for the wedding of Charles and Diana in 1981.
“But it snowballed for Mia and she became absolutely obsessed with William and Kate.
“She has boxes and boxes of stuff.”
Mia will now be taking her card into her class at Borras Park Juniors School to show them all her new prized possession.
