HUNDREDS of Brownies took part in Highland Games, a welly wanging contest and a special tea party as part of a “giant sleepover” event.
As part of Girl Guiding Clwyd’s 2014 Big Brownie Birthday celebrations about 200 children descended on the pavilion in Llangollen to enjoy a feast of activities.
The Brownies took part in the Brownie Globe Trot in 24 hours – going on imaginary trips to Mexico, India and Switzerland to begin a year of celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of the movement formed by Lord Baden-Powell.
The girls, aged between seven and 10, spent the weekend doing fun activities which included an inflatable bungee run, tug of war and welly wanging contests during a recreation of the Highland Games, and also enjoying a chocolate fountain.
They also had a tea party where they decorated their own cupcakes, and finished off the day with a disco.
