GENEROUS staff have dipped into their pockets for charity after a visit from a VIP – a very important pup.
Team members at B&Q in Queensferry were paid a visit by Trudy, a one-year-old golden labrador, as part of her training to become a guide dog.
She was accompanied by volunteer puppy walker Pauline Hickey, who is helping to build Trudy’s confidence by familiarising her with busy environments such as shops.
Mrs Hickey, of Mancot, said: “Trudy is really well behaved when we are out and about and I am immensely proud of her.”
The DIY store staff were so impressed by the perceptive pooch they donated £54 to Guide Dogs Cymru.
This was the proceeds of their Christmas raffle.
Team member Denise Lavery said: “We have four or five local guide dog owners who come in and shop here all the time.”
