A MAN has denied a charge of attempted robbery following an incident at a house in Rhos near Wrexham.

Lee William Osbourne, of Upton Road, Morton, Wirral, had originally been charged with an offence of aggravated burglary.

But the charge was changed to one of attempted robbery by the prosecution at Mold Crown Court on Friday.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which is alleged to have happened at a house in Penywern, Rhos, in August of last year.

Osbourne, who appeared at his plea hearing via a live television link from Altcourse Prison in Liverpool, is alleged to have tried to rob Benjamin Jones of money and car keys.

A trial will be held in March. Osbourne, 28, was remanded in custody in the meantime.
