A CAMPAIGNER for the future of Wrexham’s independent businesses is encouraging people to vote for their most-loved business in the town.
Amanda Wynne Evans, director of The Best of Wrexham campaign, has heralded the Local and Loved Business Awards 2014 as the perfect opportunity to “raise the profile” of the town’s independent retailers and businesses.
The awards, due to take place in Wrexham on Friday, March 7, are voted for by customers and Mrs Evans is calling on the people of Wrexham to have their say when voting opens in February.
“Local independent businesses are vital to Wrexham”, she said.
“They are the lifeblood of our high street and industrial estate and they provide the variety, choice, personal service and, most importantly, employment, so are vital to keep Wrexham vibrant.”
The awards are set to bring everyone in the business community together by supporting businesses, community groups and charities.
Mrs Evans added: “We are lucky enough to have some amazing independent businesses in Wrexham and it’s about time we raised their profile.”
The voting opens of February 1 and runs until February 14.
Any person who votes for business during the campaign will be entered into a daily prize draw, where they could win £100 to spend with a The Best of Wrexham business.
The winning business will receive the award for most loved business in Wrexham and will be presented with an award at the ceremony.
Wrexham businesses are invited to purchase tickets online at www.thebestof.co.uk/
local/wrexham and the night will include a three-course meal, awards and entertainment.
Tickets can also be purchased by calling The Best of Wrexham on 01978 229252.
Proceeds from the evening will go to Nightingale House Hospice.
