A major search of the River Dee has ended after the man was found "alive and well".

Lifeboat crews, an RAF Sea King helicopter, ambulance crews and police were all involved in the operation, which centered around Hawarden Bridge close to Shotton for three days last week.

Flint RNLI was launched on Wednesday afternoon after reports of the incident, and the Liverpool Coastguard reported an “ongoing incident” at around the same time.

But on Friday the searches were called off and on Saturday a North Wales Police spokesman confirmed the man had been found alive and well.
