A LARGE amount of stolen property taken during several burglaries has been recovered in a police raid.
Items including power washers and a wide range of power tools were discovered when police targeted a house in Shotton.
The stolen items are believed to relate to five separate burglaries in the Shotton and Connah’s Quay area last week.
Police, who acted on intelligence, are still looking for the male occupant of the property on Welling Street where the stolen goods were found.
Sgt Steve Arnold, of North Wales Police, said: “A warrant was executed on Saturday evening and led to the discovery of a large amount of stolen property from five different burglaries occurring last week.
“The items recovered included two power washers and numerous power tools.
“Up to half a dozen police officers were involved. The male occupant is still at large.”
Sgt Arnold confirmed the items were all taken during garage and shed break-ins and police are confident of locating the wanted man’s whereabouts.
He also revealed Operation Burlington, a police initiative to clamp down on burglary related crime which was launched in November, had heralded “significant successes”.
“Burglaries have decreased significantly and a number of arrests have been made,” he told the Leader.
