A “CRAZY” half-naked drunken youth filmed himself risking his life climbing on a road gantry over a busy dual carriageway.
The shocking video, which emerged on video webiste YouTube, has already received more than 250,000 hits.
It shows the young man wearing only underwear and socks, filming himself staggering on top of an overhead gantry above the A494 in Ewloe.
The man is seen staggering on top of the structure, with cars speeding past below.
At one point the man, who seems severely intoxicated, looks to narrowly have escaped serious injury or death when he stumbles over close to the edge.
He then films a step-ladder at the side of the structure, which he said he used to reach the top of the structure.
As he films the view of the road metres below, he describes himself as a bit intoxicated and adds later that he has “had quite a bit of alcohol”.
He also said: “I don’t even know how I got up here, it’s crazy.”
When discussing the motivation behind his dangerous stunt, he said in the video: “It was six in the morning, [so I thought] I’m going to go on a mad one so I ran about Ewloe Green for a bit, but then I thought that was a bit boring.”
About 260,000 people had viewed the video yesterday and nearly 140 people had commented on the video, called ‘Why I shouldn’t drink’ last night’.
Many people yesterday condemned the film-maker’s actions as dangerous and stupid.
The video, uploaded by YouTube user Ray Charles on December 30, also appeared on the front page of social news website Reddit yesterday.
Ewloe Councillor Dave Mackie said: “I think it is absolutely foolish that anybody should be so stupid.
“It’s one of the dangerous things [people do] when people get too drunk.
“It is not doing anybody in the area any good and it is just sad at the end of the day that people are silly enough to film themselves doing stupid things.
“I’m relieved that the poor chap didn’t come to any harm.
“I think the important thing is we have got to learn from it.”
