A THEATRE group are getting 2014 under way with a search for a white rabbit in their latest production.
Hawarden Players are back in rehearsals for their first show of the year, ‘Alice in Jungleland’ after a short break for Christmas.
Written by chairman Fiona Burdsall and Kevin Dye, the story is loosely based on Lewis Carroll’s classic tale, Alice in Wonderland.
The play follows Alice, on holiday in the jungle with her mother Dame Dolly, as the pair go in search for the rarely seen white rabbit.
Much to their horror, along the way they discover a plot by the Queen of Hearts to have the colour of the rainforest changed from green to red.
With a cast of 12 actors, the tale features a number of familiar characters from the original children’s tale – with a Hawarden twist.
Curtains rise on the show on Friday January 17 at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7pm at the Hawarden Institute, Glynne Way.
Tickets are available from Daleside Nursery, Gladstone Way, Hawarden or by calling the box office on 01244 531085.
Tickets are priced at £6 for adults and £5 kids.
