EVEN when it comes to getting married, actress Soeli Parry is absolutely determined the show must go on.
The actress and former Groves High School pupil in Wrexham is currently on a national tour with the acclaimed production Singing in the Rain, starring as a dancer.
Away from the stage, wedding bells are beckoning for Soeli as she is getting married to fellow actor Antony Hansen next summer. The happy couple look forward to tying the knot in June.
But while most newlyweds would be planning to relax after their nuptials on an extended honeymoon trip, Soeli is showing total professionalism to her craft.
After they wed, Soeli and Antony will have just two days off before she is back on tour with Singing in the Rain, with the show running at venues across the country until October 2014.
Only once her run ends, Soeli and Anthony – who is currently appearing in Phantom of the Opera in London’s West End – will finally take stock and are planning to enjoy Christmas together in 2014.
“It will be my first Christmas off since college,” she said.
But despite the gruelling schedules and demands of being a professional thespian, Soeli said she adores the lifestyle – even if the job can sometimes mean it is hard to catch up with loved ones.
“I love being an actress, it’s so nice doing something you really enjoy,” said Soeli.
“But it can be difficult to see family and friends when you are in a show based in London.”
Soeli is a former student of the Chiswick-based Arts Educational School and now lives in Northamptonshire.
Talking about the reaction Singing in the Rain has been getting, Soeli said: “The response from the audiences has been great and we are getting a wide mix of people in to see the show.”
She is particularly pleased as the latest venue they perform at is the Millennium Centre, Cardiff, until January 5.
“It is always a pleasure to be in front of a Welsh audience,” she added.
