X FACTOR fever came to a Wrexham school.
Delighted youngsters at St Christopher’s School welcomed the band of brothers, Next of Kin, on Friday.
The talented trio, who hail from Colchester, made it through to the bootcamp stage of this year’s TV competition, failing to clinch a spot in the next stage of the competition which would have taken them to the judges houses.
Teacher Bhupinder Lace said the children had been excitedly looking forward to the big gig.
“It is a fabulous opportunity for our youngsters to see Next of Kin sing live. They have been talking about it all week,” said Mrs Lace.
“The crowd absolutely loved the performance, the afternoon was a tremendous success.
“Children from the independent day living department made a special banner to
express their thanks.”
The show was arranged through Chris Parry of the organisation Eezy Events.
He made the offer after visiting the school with Wrexham FC player Adrian Cieslewicz.
Next of Kin were due to make another appearance in the area, this time Hope, later on in the day.
They were performing at Country Spice in Hope to help raise money for the James Bulger Memorial Trust
Mrs Lace added: “We would like to give our sincerest thanks to Chris Parry for arranging this visit.”
Headteacher Maxine Pittaway added her thanks to everyone involved in the concert.
