RESIDENTS woke up to “devastation” after vandals went on a rampage in Connah’s Quay.
Police say they have so far received seven reports of damage from residents in Wepre Park and Wepre Drive – and they expect the number to rise.
A car was damaged, coping stones were knocked off garden walls, and shrubs and Christmas decorations were stolen during the rampage in the early hours of Monday morning.
Mother-of-two Faye Sullivan said she woke up to find a four foot-high plant pot on top of her car.
“They have put the plant pot on top of the car and it scratched the roof,” she complained.
She said she is yet to find out how much the damage is going to cost her.
Another resident, who did not want to be named said: “It was disgusting. There were plant pots and debris everywhere.
“I walked down the street the next day and there was devastation down the street.
“We used to have quite a lot of trouble down here years ago - we have not had any like this for a while.”
Two local men were arrested following the incident but have since been released on bail pending further enquires.
Sgt Sue Richards yesterday said they were expecting “quite a lot of reports to come in”.
Police are also appealing for witnesses to come forward by calling 101 quoting the reference number RC13200702.
