A GROUP of grandmothers and mothers have shed their inhibitions – and their clothes – for a racy fundraising calendar.
Community spirit took over as the daring models posed in the nude for a 2014 calendar – all in aid of the Mostyn community.
The women who took part range in age from their early 40s to their late 70s.
Organiser Sharon Bower said making the calendar was an “amazing experience”, even if some models needed a little more persuasion than others.
“It was brilliant,” she said. “It has also brought a lot of the ladies closer together.
“We have had fun doing it and it’s all for a good cause.
“Some of the women were just up for it straight away, but some needed talking around. It was absolutely amazing.
“They were inspired to do something to raise money to reopen the recently closed Mostyn Rainbow Playgroup and also raise funds for a senior citizens’ group.”
Ms Bower added: “We were talking to the older people in the village and we were aware things needed to be done.
“We decided we should be doing something to try to get some money. We also decided to do this for a bit of a laugh.
“The outcome was brilliant. The calendar is excellent.
“It has been a great laugh, we have all really enjoyed doing it.”
The photoshoot took place in Mostyn Community Centre, with the pictures taken by photographer Jason Evans.
The group will launch the new year Mostyn girls calendar at the Glan y Don pub on Monday, December 9.
Ms Bower added: “It is all about putting money back into the community.
“It is our village and we want things done and we realise that we have got to help ourselves.”
