POLICE are investigating an alleged assault on a pupil at a secondary school.
The incident happened on Thursday at Ysgol Bryn Alyn in Gwersyllt.
Wrexham Council said the school and North Wales Police are working together to establish what happened.
No further details about the incident were released.
A Wrexham Council spokesman said: “There has been an allegation of an assault at the school and we are currently investigating the matter.
“We understand this has been reported to the police and we will cooperate with any enquiries they wish to make of the school.
“Parents can be assured that allegations of assault are taken very seriously.
“The school would also like to reassure parents and carers that the school is a safe and caring place for their child to be and that such allegations are very rare.”
Michael McGivern, North Wales Police spokesman, said: “We were notified that there had been an alleged assault at Ysgol Bryn Alyn.
“We had a call at 10.15am on Friday morning of a report that a pupil had been assaulted at the school, which took place sometime the previous day.”
There had been no arrests in connection with the alleged incident.
