A YOUNG chef died suddenly this weekend.
Scott Torrens, from Rhosddu, died in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 21-year-old was a junior sous chef at the Croes Howell restaurant in Llay.
He had been due to compete in the North Wales heat of the National Chef of Wales contest today at at Coleg Llandrillo in Rhos-on-Sea.
Organisers of the contest postponed the heat as a ‘mark of respect’.
Graham Tinsley, the Culinary Association of Wales’ chairman of judges, said: “As a mark of respect to Scott’s family, we have decided to postpone the North Wales heat until after the funeral has been held.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family at this very sad time.”
