BUSINESSES were left in the dark after a power cut on Wrexham Industrial Estate yesterday.
Power to eight units, including factories such as JCB, went down shortly before 1pm.
Michelle Parker, owner of the Amber Rose Hair and Beauty Lounge based in the Bryn Business Centre, said they lost power for an hour.
She said: “I don’t know what happened but the power went off and we had to send one customer home with a colour still on and another one home with wet hair.
“Luckily it was all taken in good humour and no one had anywhere to be or any important functions to be at.”
A JCB spokesman said: “Production was interrupted for just over an hour and we are have met with Scottish Power to discuss the issue.
“The power cut will not impact on the supply of axles and transmissions to our Staffordshire factories.”
A spokesman for ScottishPower said: “The issue was with an underground cable and our team went out to deal with it. We apologise for any inconvenience that our customers hay have experienced.”
At about 1.30pm, Twitter user Brian Forbes said: “All still off in JCB. Been off for around 30 mins now.”
He tweeted at about 2.10pm: “All back on now.”
