A business owner arrived at work yesterday to find his van had been destroyed by fire.
Dave Williams, who runs Willprint in Dock Road, Connah’s Quay, said his white van was reduced to a charred wreck.
The blaze was so intense it smashed the top window of his nearby workshop.
The fire happened shortly before 3am on Monday morning. The cause is said to be unknown.
Mr Williams said: “This has devastated my business. “It was parked outside my business. I drove past at about 1am and it was fine.
“It must have been very hot – you should see the state of the glass in the window on my workshop.”
North Wales Police said they were working with the fire service to establish the cause of the fire.
Mr Williams added: “All my signing equipment was in the van.
“There was about £2,500 worth of equipment in the back.”
Mr Williams said he had been working from the premises for 35 years and has never had a problem.
“I have got signs to put up for people this week,” he said.
“It will have a knock-on effect – it really is devastating.”
Firefighters from Deeside attended the scene after receiving various calls reporting the fire.
