FIVE men have been remanded in custody on charges of conspiring to supply cocaine and money laundering.
Simon Neal Roberts, 39, of Dolydd Lane, Cefn Mawr, David Keith Taylor , 54, of Pentre Gwyn, Wrexham, Jason Maddocks-Jones , 23, of Highfields, Chirk, and Wayne David McKenzie, 38, of Parkside Road, Manchester, appeared at Mold Crown Court via a live television link from Altcourse Prison in Liverpool for a preliminary hearing.
Judge Niclas Parry set a time table for the case and said that their pleas would be expected at a hearing in November.
Later a linked defendant David Arfon Jones, 29, of East Avenue, Ruabon, appeared in person in the dock and the same time table was set in his case.
The charges follow allegations that police seized a quantity of cocaine, a class ‘A’ drug, in raids with an estimated street value of £250,000.
The allegations of money laundering includes a number of properties, vehicles and cash, including £45,000 seized after officers stopped a car in the Wrexham area.
