A BOY who died in a when he was knocked off his bike will be remembered at a memorial golf event.
Daniel Inskip, 12, was killed 18 years ago as he cycled to his Brynford home.
The Daniel Inskip Memorial Golf Tournament will be held for the fifth time and on September 8 and raise money for charity in his memory.
It will take place at Holywell Golf Club, where more than 100 participants will raise funds for the Welsh Air Ambulance as they remember the former St Winifred’s Catholic Junior School and Holywell High pupil.
This annual event has raised funds for various charities in the past, including St Kentigern Hospice, Holywell Community Hospital and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
His dad Danny, who runs Danny’s Family Butchers in Holywell, said the event is to raise funds for a good cause – but also to keep his son’s memory alive.
Danny, who has two daughters Amy, 12, and Leah, 8, said: “It makes you feel a lot better being able to raise money for charities in his memory.
“There is about 100 players taking part, there’s 24 teams of four.”
This year is the first year Danny will take part in the tournament.
His wife Claire said: “The Welsh Air Ambulance is something we want to support.
“They do a great job.”
If anyone is interested in taking part, they can still do so by calling Holywell Golf Club on 01352 710 040 or by calling Danny on 01352 711 256.
