AN investigation is taking place amid claims an allegedly drunken girl of 16 had her hair extensions removed at a police station.
Solicitor Bethan Jones said photographs were being taken of her hair and of injuries to her wrists so the matter can be looked into further.
The defendant appeared from custody at a special Bank Holiday sitting of Flintshire Magistrates Court at Mold yesterday charged with being drunk and disorderly in Abbott Street, Wrexham, and resisting police.
She did not enter pleas.
Magistrates heard she was already on bail for an allegation of assault.
Miss Jones told magistrates: “For reasons I don’t understand, she was taken into custody and her hair was cut. She had hair extensions in and she is telling me that her head was put on the desk and they were taken out.”
Miss Jones said her client, from the Wrexham area, was concerned about her appearance in court and had covered her hair with a coat.
She was arranging for her appearance and her wrist injuries to be photographed and logged so the matter could be investigated further.
The case was adjourned to Wrexham youth court and she was bailed. She must observe an 8pm to 8am tagged curfew and comply with youth justice service instructions.
