MORE than 80 new care industry jobs have created in a further boost to employment in Flintshire.
The Abacare Care Agency has announced the vacancies two weeks after car giant Toyota created 70 new positions at its Deeside engine plant.
Abacare says successful applicants will receive full training and is offering them an opportunity to obtain qualifications in the industry.
Flintshire Council’s cabinet member for regeneration, enterprise and leisure, Cllr Peter Macfarlane, said: “Any job opportunities in the county are always welcome.
“This should offer fresh new employment for people in Flintshire. The social care industry is an expanding part of the local economy,” he added.
Abacare’s care management team provides care to individuals in their own home.
It was recently awarded an Investors in People accolade for its staff training and development.
Gillian Roderigues, HR manager at Abacare, which is based in Colwyn Bay and provides services across Mid and North Wales, said: “We have social care worker vacancies, including live-in positions, for people looking for a career change in Flintshire.
“Being a social care worker is a very rewarding job and gives people the opportunity to carve a career for themselves.
“To be able to cope with change and having the ability to display empathy and warmth are essential. We provide a great support network for all of our carers.”
