A FATHER is pleading for a fence to block out men urinating in an alley next to his home.
Karl Ferguson, of Holywell, is furious his wife, Claudette, 40, and daughter, Channon, 14, are repeatedly faced with the shocking sight.
The problem is also causing a stink as urine seeps through the chain-link, which runs the length of the Fergusons’ garden in Moor Lane, Holway.
The family say they have no privacy in the summer and cannot leave furniture in the garden for fear of it being stolen.
Mr Ferguson, 41, said he had been calling on Flintshire Council to deal with the problem for more than a year.
The authority says it intends to replace the fence at some point in the coming financial year, 2013-2014.
But Mr Ferguson fears they could face another 12 months of misery.
“It’s been going on for too long,” he said. “Urinating is a big problem.
“We get people nipping down there for a wee and it’s worse at night when people are coming home from the pub.
“I just tell them to get lost but my wife and 14-year-old daughter shouldn’t have to see it.
“They come out of the side door and see somebody doing that – it’s not on.”
Mrs Ferguson added: “It’s disgusting. It comes through the alleyway into our garden and it stinks.”
Her husband, a stock controller at Iceland in Holywell, said the council logged his first call on August 10, 2011 but believes he complained before then.
Clare Budden, head of housing at Flintshire Council said: “We have received reports the side boundary fencing is defective.
“Instructions have been raised for the fence to be replaced within the planned programme for the next financial year.”
