BIKERS will be swapping their leathers for bunny outfits on Sunday in aid of charity.
Petrolheads café in Bagillt is organising an egg run delivering Easter gifts to children at Glan Clwyd hospital in Bodelwyddan.
Eggs, toys and cash donations are already piling up at the café ahead of the main event, and Rona Bell, who runs Petrolheads MCC bike club, said there was already lots of interest.
“We’ve got at least 20 bikes coming and hopefully there’ll be lots more,” she said.
This is the first egg run Petrolheads has organised, having previously taken part in Wirral runs.
“We heard the Wirral run couldn’t go ahead this year because of financial issues,” said Rona, “so we decided to have a go.”
Those taking part are encouraged to dress in Easter-related costumes to deliver the presents.
Bikes will leave the café at 12.30pm, follow the A548 coast road and A525 Rhuddlan Road, aiming to arrive at Glan Clwyd between 1pm and 1.30pm.
The bikes will then return to the café where the fundraising event will carry on until 7pm, with food, drinks and a band.
Rona said people had been asking about the route so they could wave the bikers on.
“That would be great,” she said. “On the Wirral run, people line the streets. It’s early days for us but it would be lovely if they did. The more the merrier.”
Anyone wanting to take part should arrive at Petrolheads café by 12.30pm to register. Riders of single person machines can take part with people asked to make a donation.
Those wishing to donate Easter eggs or toys for the children’s ward can drop them off at the café.
Petrolheads café is at Dee Bank industrial estate on the A548 near Whelston, and opens 9am-4pm Monday to Thursday, and 9am-11pm Friday and Saturday.
