ROADWORKS near Pontblyddyn caused massive tailbacks for drivers struggling to commute on Tuesday morning.
Traffic lights are in operation on the A541 Mold-Wrexham road near Pontblyddyn.
The works being undertaken by Dee Valley Water also caused some delays for motorists making their way home on Monday.
The water company is currently carrying out emergency repairs and the two-way traffic lights will be in operation until they are completed on Friday.
That same section of the dual carriageway is however expected to be closed for seven weeks to allow for resurfacing, footway reconstruction and drainage work.
That work is set to begin next Monday and is scheduled for completion on May 6.
Drivers face the possibility of further congestion as a result.
