UNDERCOVER officers are hunting a flasher who exposed himself to a teenage girl in an alleyway.
Police have stepped up covert and high visibility patrols in Flint but are warning against rumours.
Dozens of posts speculating about the hooded attacker have appeared on Facebook.
The man, whose face was covered, struck in Bryn Mor Drive and fled in the direction of Northop Road.
Flintshire community police sergeant John Williams said: “We would like to let people know there are a lot of rumours being circulated around Flint regarding a masked male exposing himself in public.
“We are taking all reports seriously, increasing high visibility and covert patrols.
“All complaints are being investigated thoroughly. However, we currently only have one report of a male exposing himself to a female on February 26.
“We are aware of a number of reports from members of the public where hooded males have been sighted in and around the area of Flint, but these sighting have not been confirmed as the male we are looking for.
“It is important to understand that the comments being made on Facebook have not been verified and confirmed.
“We are aware of concerns expressed on social media sites and we continue to monitor them.”
