PUPILS at a Flintshire school have been “inappropriately approached” by a male Facebook user.
Dawn Spence, headteacher of Argoed High School, Mynydd Isa, has warned parents of the threat to their youngsters.
North Wales Police have also been alerted to the risk to pupils.
“It has been brought to our attention that a man has recently made inappropriate approaches to a number of our pupils via Facebook,” Mrs Spence wrote in a letter to pupils. “As a school we share with you the view that the safety of our children is paramount.”
Mrs Spence acknowledged the risks posed to children by the internet and advised parents to show “continued vigilance regarding their child’s access to the internet in general and access to social networking sites in particular.”
Argoed High School is encouraging to parents to contact it with any questions surrounding the issue.
