AN UP and coming R&B dance duo are on the verge of supporting some of the world’s top urban musicians.
Click22 have reached the final of a Radio City ‘Your Big Gig’ competition to perform alongside chart stars Ne-Yo and X-Factor favourite Tulisa.
The 22-year-old Flintshire pairing, made up of Mold’s Owen ‘Prospekt’ Davies and Ceejay Morrison from Hawarden, could take to the stage at Liverpool's Echo Arena alongside the international stars should they top the vote against four other finalists.
Owen said: “It is something I have aspired to do since I got into music.
“We are the only ones from North Wales in the competition so we want to win it for the whole area.
“To win it would be massive for us,” he added.
Owen and Ceejay met when they were pupils at St David’s Primary School in Mold before losing touch and ultimately making contact again three years ago.
They have been working together ever since and collaborated on the lyrics for their song, ‘Superstar’ which is a re-working of Love Inc’s 2002 UK hit single, You’re a Superstar.
Ceejay added: “The chemistry between us was still there from when we were kids and we expected to do well in the competition because we have a lot of talent and confidence in our ability. It is still a bit overwhelming but both Ne-Yo and Tulisa have influenced us in what we do so it would be great to perform with them.”
‘Superstar’ features dancer Nikki Belle and is available to hear at www.radiocity.co.uk/gig
