THE sporting talent of Wrexham was honoured at a glittering ceremony.
More than 300 players, coaches, volunteers and dignitaries packed Brymbo Sports and Social Complex for the Wrexham Sports Awards on Thursday.
Among the winners were Aled Goddard, who clinched junior sports personality of the year, and Brickfield Rangers Football Club which secured club of the year.
The event was hosted by Chris Hughes from Wrexham Sport Development and presentations were made by the Mayor and Mayoress of Wrexham and John Morgan, executive director of Disability Sport Wales.
Ken Danskin, leisure and activity officer at Wrexham Council, said: “Wrexham Sports Awards is now well established on the local sporting community calendar.
“We continue to be encouraged by the new sports coming through and the record number of nominations.”
