A MAN aged 23 took a topless photograph of a schoolgirl aged 14.
Police also found a second photograph which the girl herself had taken and sent to him on his phone.
Daniel James Beard, now 24, of Maes y Coed in Gwersyllt, Wrexham, admitted taking an indecent photograph and possessing an indecent photograph and received a suspended sentence at Mold Crown Court.
He denied a charge of meeting a child for sexual grooming and that was dropped when the prosecution accepted that no sex had taken place.
Beard received a 14 month prison sentence, suspended for two years.
He was placed on supervision and sent on a community sex offender treatment programme.
Judge Rhys Rowlands placed him on the sex offender register for ten years and also made him the subject of a ten-year SOPO (Sexual offences prevention order) under which he is not to have any contact with a child under 16 apart from with the express consent of social services.
The judge said the offences were serious and “rather disturbing”, adding: “These are offences which cause a great deal of concern in the wider community.”
