Three vehicle crash near Chirk causes delays

A ROAD accident involving three vehicles took place close to the Halton roundabout near Chirk at around 9.05am this morning (Friday).

A spokeswoman for North Wales Police said the incident involved a Ford, BMW and Fiat.

A heavy build up of traffic has been reported for motorists using the A438.

The hold up is on the southbound carriageway between Ruabon and the Halton roundabout.

There was a separate inident at 9.07am in which a lorry caught fire in Halton, Chirk.

One appliance from Wrexham was called, but the fire was out on arrival.

A spokesman for North Wales Fire and Rescue said the fire was started by an electrical fault with the engine.
