A YOUNG dad has been jailed for assaulting two policemen.
Flintshire Magistrates Court heard the officers were called out by a householder who found a stranger sleeping in her Buckley garage.
One officer’s finger ended up being bitten by the stranger and the other suffered facial injuries.
Father-of-three Stephen James Mullins, 20, kicked out at the police car causing the door to come away from the frame and then spat into the face of a custody detention officer at Wrexham police station.
Mullins, of Nant Mawr Road, Buckley, admitted assaulting two police officers and the detention officer and causing damage.
He had previously denied the bite but admitted biting the officer on a reckless basis during a struggle, which was accepted by the prosecution.
Appearing at a sentencing hearing at the Mold yesterday, Mullins, who had been to Silverstone Drive in Buckley, was jailed for six months by District Judge Andrew Shaw.
The court heard Mullins had been through a very tough time in custody previously where a cell mate had committed suicide.
