Snow and ice return to Wrexham and Flintshire

MOTORISTS woke up to tricky conditions today as snowfall returned to the region.

A light covering of snow settled overnight, causing roads and paths to become slippy.

Morning commuters had a chilly start to the day - with the mercury dropping to 2C.

With Easterly winds, the temperature will have felt more like a nippy -4C.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning last night, asking people to be aware of ice.

Road users on the A483 between Wrexham and Chester experienced delays of up to 30 minutes this morning as snowfall caused problems for rush-hour traffic.

The snow is set to be replaced with cloud and light rain over the coming days.
