FANS of Wrexham Football Club are to get the chance to attend the club’s annual general meeting for the first time in almost a decade.
The first AGM of Wrexham AFC Limited, which is owned by Wrexham Supporters Trust, will take place in the Nick Whitehead Theatre at Glyndwr University on Thursday at 7.30pm.
Supporters who are members of the trust will be presented with the annual accounts for Wrexham AFC Limited for the financial year to June, 30, 2012.
Members of the football club board will be on hand to take questions on the accounts from fans, alongside other issues.
The figures represent the first year of trading for the club under fan ownership and board members say they think fans will leave the meeting feeling very positive.
The last time supporters were allowed to attend the club’s AGM was when shareholders questioned then chairman Mark Guterman about 10 years ago.
A meeting of the supporters' trust will follow the football club AGM
Wrexham FC and WST board member Spencer Harris said: “We’re expecting fans will come away feeling very positive about the first year of trading under fan ownership. It’s a big meeting and the majority of the football club board will be in attendance along with the trust board.
“They can ask us any questions they like and we’ll do our best to answer them.”
“We look forward to seeing as many members as possible for what will be a historic meeting.”
Mr Harris added: “To speed up entry to the AGM we would be grateful if members could present their membership cards or their letter of invitation when arriving.”
