A MAN aged 23 has admitted taking a topless photograph of a 14-year-old girl.

Daniel James McDonald, of Maes y Coed, Gwersyllt, appeared at Mold Crown Court and admitted taking the photograph of the child in April and possessing the image.

A third charge of meeting up with the child following sexual grooming, which he denied, was not proceeded with and was allowed to remain on the file.

Prosecuting barrister Jonathan Austin said McDonald’s pleas were acceptable to the prosecution.

It was not in the interests of justice to pursue the third charge to trial, he said.

Judge John Rogers QC told McDonald his guilty pleas would greatly help him when sentence was imposed.

McDonald was rebailed until next month for sentence.

He must register with the police as a sex offender in the meantime.
