DRIVERS along the A483 Wrexham bypass endured a hellish commute today - and roadworks are set to last for two more days.
One lane is closed on the southbound carriageway between Rossett and the Gresford roundabout while contractors carry out maintenance works, including drain cleaning and gulley emptying.
This morning there were tailbacks for at least a mile at rush hour.
A spokesman for Denbighshire Council said: “Denbighshire is carrying out some minor but essential maintenance works on the dual carriageway section of the A483.
“This work involves some surveying and cleansing work, gulley emptying and cleaning of drainage channels.
“Wrexham Council are carrying out the actual temporary traffic management work which comprises of lane closures.
“The work is necessary to ensure that the highway network is kept well maintained.”
