Tributes have been paid to a much loved wedding planner who died unexpectedly after suffering a brain aneurysm.
Annette Huggins, 46, collapsed on Saturday while at work at M&S Money on Chester Business Park where she was a part time sales representative.
She was rushed to the Countess of Chester Hospital but died on Sunday afternoon.
Mrs Huggins was brought up in Johnstown and attended Ysgol Y Grango.
Her main passion was running her own wedding and events planning business.
Annette leaves her husband, Dave, 41, as well as her father, Les, 69, stepmother, Penny and stepsister Sarah. Her mother Ruby died in 1992.
Speaking to the Leader Mr Huggins described his wife as a beautiful person and spoke of his shock at her death.
“Even now I’m in total shock, I just feel completely devastated and heartbroken,” he said. “I keep expecting her to walk through the door. There were no symptoms or history of her being ill.
“When I went to the Countess I was told the bleed was catastrophic and there was no hope for her to pull through.
“The doctors carried out a number of tests on the Sunday to see if there was any brain activity but she was declared brain dead at 11.24am.
“We’d spoken before about what we’d do if anything happened to either of us, but I never imagined that I’d have to do it. Because there was no hope I made the decision to turn off her life support machine at 12.45pm.”
The coouple had been together for 10 years after meeting at MBNA in Chester where they both worked in the fraud department. They were married on the beach in Mauritius in July 2004 and have lived at their home on Ffordd Llewelyn, Wrexham, since 2003.
Mr Huggins said: “I fell for her purely because of her big smile and crystal blue eyes.
“She was just a beautiful person inside and outside and that’s probably the legacy that she will leave behind.
“I feel safe in the knowledge that she made so many people happy.
“She was my life, my wife and my world. We never argued and made each other so happy.”
He said his wife’s hobbies included walking her two dogs and cooking for friends.
“We’ve got two dogs Chloe, a chocolate labrador and Peppa, a cocker spaniel. We loved going walking together on the Pembrokeshire coast.
“Annette used to like to cook and entertain for her friends at our house to show off her skills.
“Her main passion though was planning weddings. She did quite a few weddings this year and wanted to do more and more.
“That was her sole passion.”
Mrs Huggins’ previous jobs included working as a charity fundraiser at Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham and also at the telephone answering company Moneypenny.
One of Mrs Huggins’ best friends, Helen Edwards, 43, said: “All her friends are shocked and just totally devastated.
“We grew up together in Johnstown and would hang around socially.
“We used to go camping together and we had great fun on her hen night too.
“She was a very dear friend and it’s been really sad.
“All the Facebook tributes from her friends describe Annette as lovely inside and out and that’s what she was.
“She was lovely and you wouldn’t meet a nicer person.”
Crawford Prentice, deputy chief executive officer of M&S Bank, said: “We were incredibly saddened by the sudden passing of Annette, our condolences and thoughts go out to h er family at this difficult time.”
