Jodie Jordan, 18, admitted assaulting the girl

A MAN who bit the nose of a teenage girl when in a rage has received a custodial sentence of four months.

Jodie Jordan, 18, admitted assaulting the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

The court heard he also punched her in the face and kicked her in the back.

He claimed he could only remember biting the girl but admitted in police interview that when he loses his temper “everything goes black and when I come to, bad things have happened”.

Wrexham Magistrates Court heard Jordan was with the
girl when they began arguing.

Matthew Ellis, prosecuting, said: “The victim tried to calm the defendant down but she then felt a punch to the left of her face  and a kick to the right side of her back.

“She became upset and he walked off.

“She followed him and he turned and bit her on the nose making it bleed.”

The girl initially sought hospital treatment and was given a course of antibiotics after the wound became infected.

Luckily she was left with no permanent scarring after the attack which happened at Jordan’s home in Maes y Nant, Penycae, on July 22.

However, social services became involved because of her age.

The court heard the victim had been screaming and shouting in Jordan’s face so he walked away to prevent himself from hitting her but when she followed him he lost his temper and attacked her.

Jordan said he panicked when he saw the blood and ran away.

When asked on a scale of one to 10 how angry he was at the time he said “12”.

He also admitted he bit her as hard as he could and thought he had completely “bitten through the nose”.

He claimed if he hadn’t run away he would have carried on hitting her and would not have stopped.

Catherine Jagger, defending, said Jordan was very upset by what he had done and admitted he wanted help.

“He wants to learn to control his temper and most of the time he can by removing himself from the situation.

“He is hugely relieved the bite has not caused any permanent scarring and the whole incident has motivated him to get help.”

Jordan was sentenced to four months in a young offenders institute.
