A YOUNG boy bravely battling cancer has had a Christmas party held in his honour.

Five year-old Jaxon Langford, of Heol y Ffynnon, Bradley, Wrexham, has been battling a stage four neuroblastoma following the discovery of a mass on his kidney in 2015.

Jaxon has stopped having chemotherapy and is due to travel to London next week to trial a new drug after he was re-tested two months ago and it was found the neuroblastoma cells had spread into his bone marrow.

On Sunday he and his parents, Gareth Langford and Danielle Brindley-Langford, took time out to attend a Christmas party in his honour at Gresford Colliery Club – an event he was not well enough to go to the year before.

Jaxon’s dad, Gareth, said: “We’re just looking forward to Christmas now and this new drugs trial sounds good so we’ll have to see how it works.

“Last year they did a Christmas party, but unfortunately Jaxon was in Alder Hey Hospital at the time so couldn’t go.

“He could attend this year and the organisers knew we would be going to London soon.

“It was mostly friends there, but also a lot of people we didn’t know which was really nice and just showed how the community have got behind us.

“There was a lot of fun stuff, a guy being sponsored to have sponges chucked at him, a Minion walking around, Elsa from Frozen, lots of stalls and Santa’s Grotto.

“Everyone had a great time, Jaxon loved it, he was really amazed because he said he hasn’t had the chance to go to many parties.”

Mr Langford added: “We would just like to send a message from our family to thank everyone who turned up to the party and contributed to making it happen.

“We want to thank everyone for their continued support.”
